The economic relationship between China and Myanmar is regarded as a win–win cooperation. However, Chinese investments, especially in extractive and natural resource sectors, are associated with a number of unwanted environmental consequences. Moreover, the environmental impact assessment (EIA) quality of Chinese enterprises has often been criticized. EIA identifies adverse impacts to the environment through evidence-based decision making. On this basis, this paper provides an evaluation of Chinese EIA performance within the natural resources sector through a structured review of 15 environmental impact statements (EISs). This research also evaluates the EISs of the three largest and most controversial projects, the Myitsone Hydropower Dam, Lappadaung Copper Mine and Sino-Myanmar oil and gas pipelines. The findings reveal several omissions, inadequacies and deficiencies in all the projects with a significant number of EISs falling short of satisfactory quality. Through the analysis, the paper summarizes the factors affecting the EIA performance and proposes feasible recommendations to improve EIA practices in Chinese development projects in Myanmar.  相似文献

This paper presents influence analysis of bracket set on seismic performance of steel eave columns in Chinese traditional style buildings. Eight 1/1.5‐scale steel eave columns were constructed and tested under low cyclic reversed loading, including 4 specimens with bracket set and 4 specimens without bracket set. Based on the analysis of the strain of the specimens, the failure modes of the specimens were obtained. In addition, the hysteresis loops, skeleton curves, degradations of stiffness and strength, ductility, and dissipation capacities of the specimens were analyzed. Bracket set changed the force transfer mechanisms and failure modes of the specimens and had a significant influence on the seismic performance of the specimens. Compared with the specimens without bracket set, the yielded and ultimate bearing capacities of the specimens with bracket set improved by 30.7% and 24.0%, respectively. And also, the stiffness of the specimens with bracket set at the yielded and ultimate points increased by 52.8% and 135.6%. The dissipation capacities of the specimens with bracket set were 2.12 times those of the specimens without bracket set at yielded load. However, the ductility of the specimens with bracket set slightly decreased by 8.5%. It was shown that the seismic performance of the specimens with bracket set was better than that of the specimens without bracket set. The work in this paper provides a basis for further theoretical study on the seismic performance of steel eave columns in Chinese traditional style buildings.  相似文献

Abstract

The knowledge of moisture content (MC) and drying stress are crucial parameters to control the drying process and maintain the quality of dried wood. Herein, we investigated the pattern of moisture transfer and stress development in Chinese fir during the high-temperature drying process. The MC in each layer of lumber was separated into bound water and free water via nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and the drying and residual stress were measured using prong test method. There was different MC in each layer along the thickness, resulting in an MC gradient that initially increased and then decreased, which is consistent with the trend of drying stress. The T21 peak indicating bound water shifted to the left especially when MC was below the fiber saturation point, signifying that the discharge of moisture became difficult with prolonged drying time. The ratio of bound water to free water was different in each layer, indicating that the moisture transfer was different along the thickness. Furthermore, the residual stress was greater than the corresponding drying stress though the disparity reduced gradually, which suggests that the MC gradient was the largest affecting factor for drying stress at high MC stages but decreased to some extent as the drying process continued.  相似文献

Anorthite crystallization between the body and glaze of ancient ceramics has regional characteristics. According to the microstructural characteristics of the body and glaze, ancient Chinese ceramics can be mainly divided into four types: Yue kiln type, Longquan kiln type, Ding kiln type and Changsha kiln type. Anorthite crystallization is closely related to the elemental composition of the body and glaze. The microstructure of Minhou kiln ceramic chips shows that when the Al2O3 content of the body is high, fine feldspar crystals precipitated into the layer of molten glaze in contact with the body surface during firing. This unique microstructure can help identify some ceramics.  相似文献

This paper explores the role of political connection on the overinvestment of Chinese energy firms. We argue that political connection can act as a “helping hand” that enables energy firms to obtain more government support to invest and a “grabbing hand” that forces politically connected energy firms to heavily overinvest for the promotion benefit of local politicians. Our analysis shows that overinvestment of an energy firm is positively affected by its political connection. In terms of the “helping hand” effects, we find that politically connected energy firms are more likely overinvest when they receive more government subsidy. In terms of the “grabbing hand” effects, we show that local politician is more likely to force energy firms to overinvest if the politician is approaching the 65-year-old promotion line. Although firms are less likely to overinvest during the economic downturn, local politician shapes the investment decision of energy firms through the “grabbing hand” effects.  相似文献

提出基于胶囊神经网络(CapsNet)的汉字字形表征模型,通过表征汉字字形中的部件实现汉字字形的表征.首先,对任一汉字字形生成所有部件类别的表征向量.然后,根据部件存在概率,利用基于欧氏距离的离群点检测,选取相应的部件表征向量.最后,由选出的部件表征向量组成该汉字的字形表征.实验表明,文中模型在仅经过部件字形训练的情况下,即可有效识别汉字部件,同时自动生成汉字字形的有效表征.  相似文献
